I love to help people sort out their Facebook wows, but sometimes the advice I give does not work on some Facebook Business Pages, despite the same advice working for others. This is unfortunately a very common occurrence with Facebook. If I got a dollar for every time I said “unfortunately that’s just one of the quirks of Facebook” when explaining why this occurs, I would be very wealthy!
This type of discussion is usually followed by the question, “well then how do I contact Facebook to report an issue with my Facebook Page” or something to that effect. Most expect the answer to be “you can’t”, but that is not true. This is one of Facebook’s best kept secrets, but the good news for you is that I am not that great at keeping secrets.
Contact Facebook Page Support
Whilst there isn’t a big “Contact Facebook Page Support” button, there is still a way to get through.
Here is the secret formula for reporting an issue with Facebook Pages:
- Go to Facebook’s Report An Issue With Facebook Pages
- Complete the Report An Issue With Facebook Pages form to inform Facebook about the issue you’re experiencing. Make sure you include a detailed description of the issue, including:
- What you were doing when the problem occurred;
- What you expected to happen; and
- What actually happened
- Include your Facebook Business Page (URL) (e.g. http://www.facebook.com/Impactiv8)
- You have the option to include a Screenshot of your issue and I would suggest that you do so to assist Facebook in resolving your issue.
Then sit back and wait for a response. Please note that you will not receive an immediate response, but your issue will be logged, looked into and responded to by the Facebook Team.
So if you have an issue, try out this process and let me know how you got on (or send me a big THANKS! to me) in the comments below.
Hi Loren
Wow! Facebook Quirks there are many. On three occasions I’ve had need to contact Facebook about quirks. To-date I have yet to get the process outlined above work as intended. The image won’t upload or worse the entire form won’t send.
That said on one occasion I was reported a hacking incident (a third party took control of the profile & locked admins out) facebook were on it with in 24 hours though it took closer to 5 days to get back up. What did I do differently on that occasion? I posted the details on one of their q&A forums as well as trying to send a complaint and quoting times and dates of the attempts to send the complaint.
I have on occasion directed people to the ‘report an issue to facebook page’. I’ve talked them through it or rather been on the other end of a phone while they filled the form etc.. no issues. Maybe it’s a mac compatibility issue?
Usually re facebook Quirks I wait. Facebook are constantly changing things. It’s free & ‘them’s the breaks’ as they say.
Thank you for an informative article

Aaah! The joys of Facebook! I gave up reporting issues a long time ago – sent off a few and never heard back. They probably do this to discourage contact!
Cheers, Alli x
I was an early adopter of Facebook and used my company name, by which many people know me, as my account name. Today for the first time I have been locked out of my account, contacts and content unless I input my real name. Not a problem particularly, although it would have been good to have an explanation and warning. Obviously I want to keep the thousands of contacts and the content I have uploaded. Will this transfer to my new name account?
Ian, Facebook has a strict policy on the need to use your real identity in setting up a Facebook profile. They do crack down on accounts that are using aliases on a regular basis. It sounds like you may be experiencing this at present. Without actually seeing the message, I can’t really advise what will happen. However, if you are currently locked out until you change your name to your real name, you may have no other choice if you wish to continue to have access to those people you have connected with over the years. ~ Loren
